Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Frank Bridge
Spring Term 2010
The programme for the coming term will be the Mozart String Quintet in G minor and the Suite for Strings by Frank Bridge. The Mozart, as I’m sure you are aware, is an incredibly beautiful and melancholic work, one of the all time greats in the chamber music repertoire.
However, I am particularly looking forward to working on the Suite for Strings. Frank Bridge is a composer whose works do not really get performed as much as they deserve.
He is probably better known for being Benjamin Britten’s composition teacher than for the compositions which he wrote in his own right.
We will continue to meet at the Exmouth Market Centre, next to the Holy Redeemer Church at the western end of Exmouth Market very close to the junction of Rosebery Avenue and Farringdon Road.
Term starts on 13th of January with viola and cello sectionals at 7pm. Full orchestra starts, as usual, at 7.55pm.
- Please check our Spring Term Timetable to see the detailed schedule for your orchestra section
- Please remember to bring a music stand
The concert will be on 21st of March at 4pm in the Holy Redeemer Church next to the Exmouth Market Centre. There will be a rehearsal beforehand between 1pm and 3pm. Concert dress will be all black as before.
